FAQ's
One of the most common questions we get from parents is how to balance indoor and beach volleyball. Below is a quick guide to help you navigate the junior volleyball world!

What time of year should my athlete be playing volleyball?
All year! We strongly encourage year-round play. Consistent touches and reps are key to improving, and staying active throughout the year helps athletes continue to grow their skills.

How do I balance club and school volleyball, especially in high school?
High school volleyball is an amazing time to make memories and grow with your school team. While elementary and middle school programs are typically less demanding, we know high school schedules can be intense. That’s why we structure our beach programs—like Fall Ball—with flexibility in mind, offering varied time commitments to support in-season athletes. For summer training, we hold high school practices in the evenings to accommodate morning school workouts and keep Wednesdays free for summer league.

Can I play indoor club and beach volleyball at the same time?
Absolutely! Many of our athletes do both. If you're planning to play indoor club and want to stay in the sand, we recommend our Year-Round or Winter Ball programs. Athletes typically train 4–5 nights a week (2 indoor, 2–3 beach), which still allows time for rest and tournaments.
Our Beliefs
It’s important to decide early in your volleyball journey whether to focus on beach, indoor, or both—your choice will shape your training and development. Only 5.8% of girls play college volleyball, and just 1.1% make it to Division I, so understanding your path is crucial. For athletes considering both sports, beach and indoor volleyball complement each other well with transferable skills, but balancing both—especially at a high level—requires serious time and commitment.

Key NCAA Rule: Athletes on a beach scholarship cannot play indoor, but indoor scholarship athletes can play beach.

Sample Schedules:
-
Indoor-Focused Player:
Aug–Oct: High school volleyball (optional beach for extra reps)
Nov–May: Indoor club (supplement with beach if possible)
May–July: Beach volleyball for cross-training and fun -
Beach-Focused Player:
Aug–Oct: High school volleyball + Year Round
Nov–May: Year-Round beach program with tournaments and strength training
May–July: Continue beach training and competition -
Dual Athlete (Indoor + Beach):
Aug–Oct: High school + Fall Ball
Nov–May: Indoor club + beach practices/tournaments
May–July: Finish indoor season and train/compete in beach
It’s a demanding path—but for passionate and driven athletes, playing both is absolutely possible.
